Knight Ridder Newspapers
Jul. 28, 2005 05:21 PM

People magazine is out Friday with more revelations about Jude Law's love life.

Seems that whilst he was in Chicago filming "Road to Perdition" in 2001, the then-married Brit encountered mortgage broker Erica Colburn, who at the time was an exotic dancer in a nightclub.

Colburn claims their affair went on for months and during their first encounter, "he washed my feet for me. It was very romantic."

On snap! Urlacher in Baby Mama Drama . . .DNA tests prove!

According to the Chicago Sun-Times Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, who had a brief fling with Paris Hilton while separated from his now ex-wife, has fathered a child by a woman who once accused "Lord of the Dance" star Michael Flatley of rape. DNA tests requested by Urlacher prove his the father of a 2 month old baby born to 33 year old Tyna Marie Robertson.

-snip-
DNA tests show Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is the father of a 2-month-old baby, according to court documents that resulted from Urlacher's lawsuit to prove whether he is the father.

The mother, Tyna Marie Robertson, 33, is the same woman who sued "Lord of the Dance'' star Michael Flatley 25 days after they had sex in Las Vegas, saying he had raped her. That suit was thrown out, and Flatley is now suing Robertson and her former attorney for extortion.

Payback? Crains Chgo Biz questions Patrick Fitzgerald hire's appointement

I'm not sure if this is payback, but Patrick Fitzgerald has beat the shit out of the White House and Chicago's City Hall. I wonder if Daley or Rove has anything to do with this article.

Fitzgerald hire raises eyebrows
Staffer played key role in selecting prosecutor
By Greg Hinz

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, who has tormented City Hall and the White House with unrelenting probes of political misconduct, has hired a former congressional aide who played a key role in getting him his job.

Mr. Fitzgerald hired Margaret Hickey eight months ago as an assistant U.S. attorney here, earning about $142,000 a year. Until a few days before that, she was Illinois chief of staff and general counsel for then-U.S. Sen. Peter Fitzgerald, who recommended Patrick Fitzgerald to the White House.

Ms. Hickey was one of two Senate staffers who assisted Sen. Fitzgerald in making his choice.

In a phone interview, Patrick Fitzgerald, who has launched an unprecedented assault on political practices such as patronage hiring and government leaks as U.S. attorney here and a special prosecutor in Washington, D.C., rejects any suggestion that hiring Ms. Hickey undermines his reform credentials.

Cook County GOP chooses bigotry over tolerance

All five Republican Cook County commissioners have withdrawn their names from a proclamation that the county board is issuing in support of the 2006 Gay Games that will be held in Chicago. They withdrew their support after being pressured by the Illinois Family Institute. This is just one more reason why no one should buy the GOP claims that it is a tolerant party.

BLOOMBERG IS REPORTING: Rove, Libby Accounts in CIA Case Differ With Those of Reporters

Well lets see how much this story gets picked up on Friday. From Bloomberg via Think Progress:

Rove, Libby Accounts in CIA Case Differ With Those of Reporters

By Richard Keil

July 22 (Bloomberg) — Two top White House aides have given accounts to the special prosecutor about how reporters told them the identity of a CIA agent that are at odds with what the reporters have said, according to persons familiar with the case.
Lewis “Scooter'’ Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff, told special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald that he first learned from NBC News reporter Tim Russert of the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame, the wife of former ambassador and Bush administration critic Joseph Wilson. Russert has testified before a federal grand jury that he didn’t tell Libby of Plame’s identity.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove told Fitzgerald that he first learned the identity of the CIA agent from syndicated columnist Robert Novak, who was first to report Plame’s name and connection to Wilson. Novak, according to a source familiar with the matter, has given a somewhat different version to the special prosecutor.

These discrepancies may be important because one issue Fitzgerald is investigating is whether Libby, Rove, or other administration officials made false statements during the course of the investigation. The Plame case has its genesis in whether any administration officials violated a 1982 law making it illegal to knowingly reveal the name of a CIA agent.

SCOTUS Nominee's son audtions for "So You Think You Can Dance"

One must wonder if Jack, the son of Jack Roberts, W*'s SCOTUS nominee, was auditioning for FOX TV's "So You Think You Can Dance" during Tuesday night's press conference.

USA TODAY reports on Jack's entertaining moves:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Steps away as the president introduced John Roberts as a choice for the Supreme Court, the nominee's young son danced the heart out of his saddle shoes.
The boy's mother had a less-than-approving look on her face as she watched. At one point, she even held 4-year-old Jack by the arm of his light blue short-pants suit.

Judge Roberts did not seem to flinch.

Hey Jude! If you are going to cheat, cheat up!

Obviously the NY Post and windycitywatch.com agree, we cannot believe Jude Law blew his relationship with Sienna Miller by sleeping with his nanny, Daisy Wright. We don't recommend cheating, but if you are going to cheat, you must cheat up! Obviously he is trading down.

JUDE'S NANNY NOT SO DANDY

By BILL HOFFMANN

Hey, Jude, you burned Sienna for . . . this?

Even all tarted up for a photo shoot for London's Mirror newspaper, nanny Daisy Wright looks more like a late-night belt-notch than a top-shelf taste worth scrapping an engagement to a gorgeous A-list actress.

The 26-year-old Wright — who looked after Law's three kids with ex-wife Sadie Frost — delivered a stinging sucker-punch to starlet Sienna Miller this week when she revealed she'd had "mind-blowing, rampant sex" with Miller's fiancé, bad-boy actor Jude Law.

-snip-

In an explosive interview — and in excerpts from her steamy diary — Wright revealed how Law, 32, seduced her over a bottle of wine in New Orleans, where he was shooting "All the King's Men."

"The next thing I knew, he was kissing me . . . We kissed and kissed for what seemed like ages I was thinking, 'I cannot believe this. Jude Law is snogging me,' " she said.

"The next thing I know, we are dragging each other upstairs to his bedroom, kissing and then, in the bedroom, ripping off each other's clothes.

"We threw ourselves onto the giant bed . . . I wanted him so much. We kicked off our underwear . . . It was mind-blowing rampant sex . . . amazing, wonderful."

However at dawn — after round three in the sack, Wright said — the lovers were discovered in the bedroom by Jude's son.

"[He] said, 'Daddy, Daddy, I'm having a bad dream.' Jude said, 'It's all right, darling, go back to bed.' The next thing I know, Jude was kissing my neck and all over . . . It was fantastic, he was just great. It was just what I needed."

When the boy later told his mother about daddy's romp, Frost fired Wright.

As always the New York Post does not disappoint with this story. Be sure to click through and check out the picture.

'HE-SHE' GUILTY OF HEEL STAB

By LAURA ITALIANO and SHARI LOGAN

A transvestite hooker sobbed in a Manhattan courtroom yesterday as he was found guilty of viciously slamming the 4-inch stiletto heel of his shoe into the head of a cabby who'd declined to give him a ride.

Carlos Sanchez, 32, struck the cabby so hard during the predawn Christopher Street attack that the heel went 6 centimeters through skin, skull and brain, leaving the victim partially paralyzed.

If I tell you there is cheese on the moon. . .

. . .grab your crackers.

This morning I predicted that W* would name his Supreme Court nominee sooner than later, most likely in an attempt to distract from the Rove controversy. Well it has just been announced that he will name his nominee tonight at 8:00 PM Chicago time.

Polls don't look good for White House/Rove on CIA leak

According to a new ABC NEWS poll only a quarter of Americans believe that the White House is fully cooperating on the CIA leak probe. . .this is not good for W* and his boy Rove.

-snip-
Just a quarter of Americans think the White House is fully cooperating in the federal investigation of the leak of a CIA operative's identity, a number that's declined sharply since the investigation began. And three-quarters say that if presidential adviser Karl Rove was responsible for leaking classified information, it should cost him his job.

Skepticism about the administration's cooperation has jumped. As the initial investigation began in September 2003, nearly half the public, 47 percent, believed the White House was fully cooperating. That fell to 39 percent a few weeks later, and it's lower still, 25 percent, in this new ABC News poll.

Nanny in diary: "Jude Law is snogging me!"

Well Jude Law has been caught having an affair with the nanny of one of his children and the only place to read about it, other than windycitywatch.com, is the New York Post.

-snip-
The bizarre 'fess-up came after steamy reports of Law's wild sex romps with 26-year-old knockout nanny Daisy Wright surfaced in London over the weekend.

Wright — seething after Law's ex-wife, actress Sadie Frost, canned her when she learned of the illicit affair from one of their kids — dished seamy details about the romance. They included one no-holds-barred sex session on a pool table.

"It was mind-blowing, rampant sex. He is a great lover, and he knows how to handle a woman," the voluptuous brunette gushed.

-snip-

The Post is the only paper in America that would include the following caption under a picture of Sadie Frost, Law's ex wife and the mother of his children.

-snip-
WOMEN SCORNED: Law's ex-wife, Sadie Frost (above), found out he was nailing the nanny and cheating on fiancee Sienna Miller.

Did they just say "nailing the nanny?" You don't see reporting like that in the Chicago Tribune.

W* has no balls!

Today W* made a bold statement:

-snip-
"It's best people wait until the investigation is complete before you jump to conclusions. I don't know all the facts. I want to know all the facts," Bush said Monday. "I would like this to end as quickly as possible. If someone committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."
-snip-

Just think about that statement for a second. "If someone committed a crime, the will no long work in my administration." Are we, the American people, supposed to sit there in awe of this bold leader who will move to fire someone who has committed a crime? Boy that takes gravitas.

Bob Herbert of the NYT calls BS on GOP/Mehlman apology to African Americans

The New York Times Bob Herbert calls out the GOP on its race baiting policies in his column today:

-snip-
And in both of Mr. Bush's presidential campaigns, his supporters, especially his brother Jeb, the governor of Florida, have gone out of their way to prevent or discourage blacks from voting. In a particularly vile episode last year, Florida state troopers conducted a criminal investigation that zeroed in on black voter turnout efforts in Orlando. A number of people were indicted, including the mayor, Buddy Dyer, a Democrat who was then suspended from office.

In April, with the election safely out of the way, the indictments were dropped and Mr. Dyer was reinstated as mayor.

At its heart, the Southern strategy remains the same, a cynical and remarkably successful divide-and-conquer strategy that nurtures the bigotry of whites and is utterly contemptuous of blacks.

My guess is that Mr. Mehlman's apology was less about starting a stampede of blacks into the G.O.P. than about softening the party's image in the eyes of moderate white voters. If the apology was serious, it would mean the Southern strategy was kaput. And we know that's not true.

So I am in SuperCuts reading Ebony and I stumble across this. . .

Today I went to SuperCuts for my weekly haircut and as I waited I picked up the June 2005 issue of Ebony and I read the following letter to the "Ebony Advisor" from a man who is married to an identical twin.

-snip-
My wife has an identical twin, and the only way to tell them apart is that my wife lost a toe as a girl in a farming accident. One night last month, I noticed something strange while in bed alongside my wife: None of her toes was missing. I realized it wasn't my wife, but her twin. It turns out that my wife and her twin had been trading beds several times a week since my brother-in-law had surgery eight years ago and stopped having sex with his wife. My sister-in-law had two children, who it turns out are mine. If her husband finds out, he might kill me. If I don't look at the feet before we go to bed, I don't know which one I'm sleeping with. What should I do?

Baffled
-snip-

That letter to the "Ebony Advisor" was almost out done by this one:

-snip-
A professional woman at 37, I began a relationship with a guy and it's gotten to be very serious. But he has lied to me from the start. When we first met, he showed me a fake I.D., saying he was 30 years old. It really hurt when I recently found out he is really a 17-year-old high school senior. But I've fallen deeply in love with him. What should I do?

Mehlman apologizes for GOP's racial polarization. . .Limbaugh blasts him

If the GOP hopes to effectively reach out to the African American community a good first step would be to formally distance the party from Rush Limbaugh. This past week party chairman Ken Mehlman attended the annual NAACP Convention (W* has blown it off since 2000) to extend an olive branch on behalf of the GOP. While I doubt the party's sincerity, they have to start somewhere so Mehlman should be given the benefit of the doubt. However according to our friends at Media Matters, bigot Rush took issue with this gesture.

-snip-

President Bush skipping this week's annual NAALCP convention for the fifth straight year, but that's not preventing the White House and the Republican Party from waging a drive to woo African-American voters. Ken Mehlman of the RNC is going to the NAALCP convention, and he is basically going to tell them how the Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln lost its way with African-American voters over the years and how determined the party is to get them back. He said, "We can't call ourselves a true majority unless we reach out to African-Americans and make it the party of Lincoln. There was a time when African-American support turned Democrat, and we didn't do enough to retain it. Now we want to build on the gains we made in the last election."

Know what he's going to do? He's going to go down there and basically apologize for what has come to be known as the Southern Strategy, popularized in the Nixon administration. He's going to go down there and apologize for it. In the midst of all of this, in the midst of all that's going on, once again, Republicans are going to go bend over and grab the ankles. They're going to the NAALCP. This is like going into Hyannisport and apologizing to [Sen.] Ted Kennedy [D-MA] for whatever and expecting him to become a supporter. It's like showing up at the [Sen.] Chuck Schumer [D-NY]-Joe Wilson press conference in 20 minutes and saying, "Okay, Ambassador Wilson, we apologize. We hope you'll support us. We can't become a majority party until people like you are voting for us." It is just -- it's absolutely absurd.

-snip-

As long as W* does not condemn his "good friend" Rush for that statement its safe to assume the GOP is full of you know what when it comes to sincere efforts to reach out to the African American community.

Oh my! Interesting TomKat/Rob Thomas rumor appears in print!

What took him so long? Rob Thomas is finally denying a widely spread Internet rumor claiming the Matchbox 20 frontman was caught in bed with Tom Cruise -- by Thomas' wife of six years, Marisol Maldonado. The supposed dalliance (and possible public exposure by Maldonado) allegedly so freaked out Cruise, he immediately went on a girlfriend-hunting crusade -- culminating in the now-overexposed relationship with Katie Holmes.
